National Certificate in Hospitality Cookery Level 2 – TEC Youth Guarantee
AHCTS Youth Guarantees hospitality course is designed as a career awareness course with a National Qualifications. The programme is full time for 26 week and caters for 16 – 19 year olds with an interest in hospitality.
The module incorporates a level 2 National Cookery Qualification and also includes units in food and beverage and barista. This qualification pathway is either at an entry level in the professional chef arena or further education in professional cookery.
CONTENT & QUALIFICATIONS
Upon successful completion of this course an NZQA National Certificate in Cookery, Level 2 will be awarded. Subjects covered include:
Practical Cookery from knife skills to dish preparation.
Safe Food Hygiene
Barista Training & Beverage
Industry placed training
Chefs uniform & knife set provided for course duration
Food and Beverage units
16 – 19 years of age
NCEA levels capped – call for more information
No course fees, funded by TEC New Zealand , Full Chef Uniform and Knife Set is provided for students to use for duration of course
